Sashimi Breakfast at Tsukiji Fish Market
Today, I decided to run the 6 miles from my office to Tsukiji Fish Market and have breakfast at Tsukiji Outer Market.
Tsukiji Outer Market was a wholesaler and restaurant attached to a large fish market which began its operations in 1935, but the fish market itself moved to Toyosu a few years ago, leaving only the wholesaler and restaurant here.
I had a Kaisen-don (sashimi rice bowl). It was very delicious! And the price was reasonable.
The restaurant named “Taneichi” I ate at was set up in a strange space between buildings with some disordered roofs over it.
This area is very lively, with lots of seafood for sale, and a queue of people waiting to get in.
I was tempted to buy a big bag of dried sardines or something, but as I still had a 6 mile run to do on the way back, I decided not to shop and just took some photos from a distance.
The Tsukiji Outer Market website is here.
It was a fun morning!
